Mrs. A gave me some poetry assignments to complete so here are some:
Haikus:
Haikus are short Japanese poems that do not rhyme. They have some rules such as; there must be three lines, the first and last line must be five syllables and the second line seven syllables.
Dolphin
A smile on her face,
Diving deep down in the sea,
A fast, blue-grey streak.
Cat
Glowing amber eyes,
Blending in with the darkness,
Ready for a pounce!
My Secret Place
Rounding a corner,
Through a winding corridor,
A place just for me.
Limericks:
A limerick is a little poem of only five lines and is normally written to make fun of someone. The first, second and fith line rhyme, and the third and fourth line rhyme.
The Epicure
There was an epicure by the name of Nate,
Who saw a rather large rat on his plate,
He called to the waiter,
To get the manager later,
"In a mo' , he'll come and compensate."
