Debay:)

Well, it's been about 2 months since I wrote and I'm sorry. I've had about 3 weeks of school at Jumeirah College, which has been both awkward and fun.... well at least the 2nd week and on. Um, you must be curious what my school is like! Here are some weird facts about it:
-School Colours: Dark green, black
-A GEMS School
-Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
-Curriculum: The NC for England
-Year Groups: Yr7~Yr13
-Subjects: 24, including Spanish, Arabic, French, Biology, History, English...

Yeah, I can't exactly find anything else... Oh well, you're not THAT curious, are you?

OMG! I'M WRITING AGAIN!!!

I'm so sorry that I haven't written for such a long time, partly due to the fact that Blogger doesn't work in China and that we have been seriously busy with all the moving to Dubai crap. Okay, so mom makes Ben and I write a diary every day and I HAVE been working on Chinese, so I'm getting better. Today I wrote about what happened in Yilan...

Separation

A subtle movement,

Fast yet so slow.

One stroke,

It brings down.

I feel you,

Close yet so far.

A dividing line,

Betwixt us.

One touch,

Impossible, it seems.

I reach out,

But find nothing.

Quote of the Day 4

"Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land among the stars."

Just a Friendly Reminder

Just to let you guys know, I've added some new stuff to my blogger. As you can see, the style has changed a lot, and there are a few more gadgets. If you haven't already seen it, there is a POLL beneath my 'About Me' section. In POLL, you can vote for the questions I put! Cool, right? Yeah, and it'll keep changing...
The good times start now.

I'd Love to Be a Fairy's Child

Hey y'all! I'm in Dubai right now... and I've been catching up with some school work! Here's a really nice poem I found while doing my English work...

I'd Love to Be a Fairy's Child by Robert Graves
CHILDREN born of fairy stock
Never need for shirt or frock,
Never want for food or fire,
Always get their heart’s desire:
Jingle pockets full of gold, 5
Marry when they’re seven years old.
Every fairy child may keep
Two strong ponies and ten sheep;
All have houses, each his own,
Built of brick or granite stone; 10
They live on cherries, they run wild—
I’d love to be a Fairy’s child.

Schloer

Hi! This is just a piece of creative writing I did this afternoon. It's not based on a real person, but I couldn't really think of anything to write about...

Schloer. Schloer Ripple.

That was her name. That was the first thing she ever said to me.

She was always the odd one out. Her bright red hair and stunning green eyes made her stand out in a crowd. The eccentric clothes she wore, the weird trinkets she accessorized herself with, the odd colors- everything about her was just different to everyone else. Everyone at school would be able to find something about her that was simply pathetic to them- her appearance, her style- even her name. Everyone but me.

She was always a very intelligent girl. She came top in every subject, and was always liked by her teachers. She was often bullied about this, and I was the only one defending her. Schloer would, not surprisingly for her kind nature, take these snide comments from other classmates rather coolly, laugh her tinkling laugh, and walk away.

Schloer had a peculiar sort of personality. She was always more of a free-spirited person, and would let nobody interfere with the actions she decided to take. She would never care if someone offended her, or said something bad about her, and she would never say anything bad back. Whenever a mistake was made, she would never blame anyone, and just smile wistfully and would patiently await you to try again. She always set me a good example about believing in yourself.

I've always felt sorry for her, how when we sat down at a table, everyone would leave. How when she spoke everyone laughed.

I wonder if she was lonely, always being stuck with me and no one else.

I was her only friend.

Holiday Highlights: March 2009

As many of you know, I have been in Taiwan for the past week for the Easter hols! I just got back about an hour ago, and is extremely tired and airsick (I puked, but lets not go into the details...) Anyways, this week was great fun, a pity about the crappy weather from Monday~Thursday, but, whatever. Sadly, there is crappy school tomorrow to endure:(

Saturday, 28th March 2009
Stupid, boring plane delayed at Tianjin airport. Arrived, panicking, at Hong Kong Airport, and hurrying to get boarding stuff... Total time in Hong Kong: 35 mins. No time for fun. Caught plane, zoomed off to Taiwan. Precisely on time.

Sunday, 29th March 2009
A week before 清明节, and we meet up at 庙光寺 with 隗 family. We spent the morning bai bai, and then a huge lunch at the Howard buffet. Afternoon, went to Toby, Molly, and Kelly's house for a loud afternoon of fun and games, then to our home for a game of “The Dog Show" and then dinner of dumplings. Night market after that, with three baskets of ping pong balls for us to throw and score at 亭亭跳跳球stall. Hooray!

Monday, 30th March 2009
Drove to NTM, waited for about 20 mins for 小姑姑 and Will to collect me to Yonghe!!! This was the last time we saw the 'old' guards at NTM -_-... Anyways, nice day at Yonghe playing with Will and stuff. So cute. :D

Tuesday, 31st March 2009
Woke bright and early for interview at KangChiao. Very dodgy driving by Mom to 新店, kept missing the entrance to highway and the right turnings. Thank god we left at 8am when we were supposed to arrive at 10:00. Met up with Chi Chi and Heng An, did the freakin' test which was SUPER easy and for complete mental retards (mentally retarded) and surely even BEN could do it. Whatever. It wasn't that bad actually, just a bit boring waiting and stuff, but there was this really nice teacher who talked to us and said our English was good and stuff blah blah blah... We left eventually, half-starved, and ate in Taipei. In the afternoon, was dragged out by Mom to see the 奔牛节, seeing that it was the last day. I was reluctant at first, but then gave up since there was nothing left to do. It was really fun, actually, we walked all the way up to Taipei 101. Then we went to Page One which was really fun at first, until we met Chi Chi and Heng An AGAIN!!! I was getting a bit sick of meeting people OVER AND OVER AGAIN. And so Mom talked with Lily for a VERY long time and then we waited.... Dinner with them at Second Floor Cafe while Dad with THEIR dad at 龟山岛. Went shopping with them, it was kinda boring, they spent SO much money. Went to bed annoyed.

Wednesday, 1st March 2009
Mom and Dad free today, FUN! We were actually supposed to go to 新竹 to look at other stupid schools but then there was really no need to. Woke late, and went to 东北角 for cycling. HOORAY! There was this really LOOOOOOOOOOONG tunnel that used to be for trains but then the TRAINS got too big. The whole tunnel was about 2.7 km and was really flat and great for cycling, had a nice time.

Thursday, 2nd March 2009
NTM today, pretty boring in the morning since they are changing exhibits. Afternoon spent shopping and staying at home. Bliss.
Ooooh ooh ooh, almost forgot- Vietnamese Noodles! YAY! :) And then 师大夜市!

Friday, 3rd March 2009
Beautiful weather- finally! Mom and Dad also free today! Yang Ming Mountain, 晴天刚 was the perfect destination. We took a new route which led to a waterfall, which was a REALLY long walk, but very relaxing and quiet. Many photos taken. Beautiful.

Saturday, 4th March 2009
Beautiful weather AGAIN! Hoot! Woke SERIOUSLY early to go to 新屋扫墓。。。 Wonderful time in country house with family! We were on TV there were so many people there! Lovely time with everyone, and there was even some freezing cold "sun-rain"~

Sunday, 5th March 2009
Home in Tianjin. Finally.

After All This Time

Okay, sry people, I've been a bit busy these days with all the moving crap and stuff. That's not the point though. So, yesterday, I did some creative writing (yippee)!!! Its a bit sad, and part of it is influenced by Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight'. Here we go....

I remember your face. So clearly.
It was as if you’d never left. So many years ago, you left me here in this cold, cruel world, for no specific reason. There had been no emotion, no pain to leave me where I still am today. I thought that you would care.
You made promises. You said that you’d come back. It wasn’t even a white lie. It was a promise. You broke that. You’d also said more. That you would make sure everything was fine. That it would be okay. Your soft, soothing voice echoed innocence, telling the inconvenient truth. I believed you. Now I know these promises were just words, mere words, which were your convincing excuses.
As if you would ever notice that I would hurt after your disappearance. Your entire selfish mind thought about yourself, how you would be happier somewhere faraway from here. It was so hard for me to watch you go, however easy it was for you. But if you’re happy, even if I suffer, I’ll live with it for as long as I have to. You are the passion in me, even if you don’t return that passion.
Before you left, you told me you could depict my fate for me- that you could create a change in my miserable life. It was true, one of the few true words you spoke to me. By leaving, you changed everything that I knew.
I remember every moment with you, and I always will.
After all this time.

Happy New Year (shall we say niu?)

Sorry guys, have been a bit busy and forgetful these days... but anyways, back for good. Happy New Year!!! I'm turning twelve (holy moly... am i THAT old)!!! Okay so there is some really great news from school- I got an Honor Roll! In case you don't know what that is, its an award that we get from IST for a high report grade, okay? So, to get an honor roll, you need to have exceeded a score average of 5.8 points. Guess how much I was? 5.888888889. Phew, just got over. I was the only person in my class to get an honor roll, and 3 people in the other grade 6 class got it as well. I also got another award, it was an Approaches to Learning Organization award. I was very proud of this one- I was chosen out of all the grade 6-8 students- that's like >150 kids!!! Plus, I was the only person to get two awards in grade 6.

Let's hope the 'Niu' Year brings more luck to everyone!
