Yesterday I went to Yilan 宜蘭 which is in the north-east area of Taiwan. My uncle lives there with his three children, so we went to visit them. In Yilan, there are a lot of spas and hot springs, and in the evening, we went to a fish spa. Inside, there were shallow pools full of inch-sized fishes. You had to put your legs in, and then the fishes would come and, well, 'bite' you. They didn't have any teeth, and so it was like they were sucking you. It really tickles!!! At the beginning I was totally scared, but in the end it actually felt quite nice! The fishes just went nip, nip, nip. Lots of fishes came and went, there was about 20'000 fishes in the three pools they had. When someone left the pool, a swarm fishes would come rushing to you, and I would get really frightened. In the end, when I came out, my skin felt like it had lost an entire layer, but it made me feel extremely clean for some reason (!)
I thought that the fish spa was a really weird but cool experience, and I think if you try it, you will like it.

My Poems
Mrs. A gave me some poetry assignments to complete so here are some:
Haikus:
Haikus are short Japanese poems that do not rhyme. They have some rules such as; there must be three lines, the first and last line must be five syllables and the second line seven syllables.
Dolphin
A smile on her face,
Diving deep down in the sea,
A fast, blue-grey streak.
Cat
Glowing amber eyes,
Blending in with the darkness,
Ready for a pounce!
My Secret Place
Rounding a corner,
Through a winding corridor,
A place just for me.
Limericks:
A limerick is a little poem of only five lines and is normally written to make fun of someone. The first, second and fith line rhyme, and the third and fourth line rhyme.
The Epicure
There was an epicure by the name of Nate,
Who saw a rather large rat on his plate,
He called to the waiter,
To get the manager later,
"In a mo' , he'll come and compensate."

Julie of the Wolves-Poems
During our Literature Circles group, we finished the book 'Julie of the Wolves'. We were given the assignment to write some poems about a character in the book and what they felt about the situation they are in at the end of the story. I was told to use the same structure and 'recipe' for the poems. Here are two:
Kapu, the new and young leader
I am awaiting the hunt,
I wonder where the girl is.
I hear the wind's song,
I want to run free.
I am awaiting the hunt.
I believe my fathers' still here,
I feel sharp coldness.
I worry about our safety,
I will hunt with the pack.
I am awaiting the hunt.
I understand the tundra's wilderness,
I say I can soar and pounce.
I dream of freedom,
I try to understand what my father did as a leader.
I hope there is a way,
I am awaiting the hunt.
Miyax, the young girl
I am alone,
I wonder of my true identity.
I hear Amy's voice echoing in my head,
I want to find a way.
I am alone.
I believe in mother nature,
I feel that I must go on.
I worry about the pack,
I will forget my past.
I am alone.
I understand what I must do,
I say it is my choice.
I dream of Amy and San Francisco,
I try to cope.
I hope I will see Kapugen,
I am alone.
