Moon Festival

Dear All,
Happy Moon Festival! I wish you all a good festival and happy times tonight! I wrote a poem about the moon espescially.
Moon
Moon, oh moon,

Your light, so beautiful & bright.

Sister Moon, Sister Moon,

Your pale face shines in the night.

Beams of silver scatter,

And break through the leaves.

Faraway on your surface a lady sits,

And a woodman cuts down a tree.

A family sits admiring your radiant glow,

A smile on every face.

Eating round moon cakes,

The festival has come today.

I hope you all enjoy your mooncakes!

www.ning.com

Hello Everyone!!!~~~
Dear All,
The Grade 5's have started a social network named www.istgrade5.ning.com on the computer. It is like a network of a lot of blogs of the students & is probably more convinient than 'blogger.com'. If anyone is interested, you can visit my page at: http://istgrade5.ning.com/profile/jennayeh4
I am thinking about starting a group for my friends & family & it would be great if you could let me know if you would like an invitation. Just mail me, & I will let you know when I have started the group.

Take a look at it!
Thanks,
Jenna

My Writing

During my Language lessons at school, I have been reading a book called 'No Gun for Asmir'. It is about a boy who lived during the Muslim war about ten years ago. We were supposed to write about something to do with war & to use as many descriptive words as possible. We were also supposed to pretend the thing had happened to ourselves & something has happened really bad. Losing my family.
So, here it is:
The War
It is over. Everything. Gone. I cannot believe what has happened in the previous few hours. Things just happen so quickly. Lying in the midst of the corpses & dead bodies, a searing pain pierces through the wound that the bullet passed through. All around me there is just death, violence & death. Looking down at my parents' dead bodies make me want to break down & cry. But I know, that they will still live in me, like I am continuing my life. They look so peaceful, drowned in the river of sleep.
I close my eyes & imagine the night on my 7th birthday, eating cake, lighting candles, unwrapping presents. When I open my weary eyelids again, I can see the remaining pieces of the doll my aunt had given me. Tears well up in my eyes like a flood. Will my relatives & friends be alright?
Far away, I could still hear the bombs exploding over houses, killing families like they had done to mine. Suddenly, the remaining lights went out. There was no sound. Just darkness. Darkness, creeping in like a stranger, enclosing me in his cloak. Darkness, chilling my blood. As the bombs continuosly went off, & night was engulfing in, I was not afraid. Through nothing, I thought I could see my parents gazez, tender & loving, as warm as the blanket on my bed, welcoming me to sleep. My head thudded to the ground & I moved & saw no more.
